Meet Alvin
Alvin is not only the founder of Urth & Phire Ceramic Studio, but also a practicing ceramic artist and a passionate art educator. With over two decades of experience, Alvin has taught ceramic art and pottery programs in schools under the MOE AMIS scheme as well as in respected art studios across Singapore.
A Journey in Art and Clay
Alvin’s artistic path began early. In 1997, he entered LaSalle College of the Arts on a full LaSalle Scholarship, completing a three‑year Diploma in Visual Arts (Sculpture).
In 1999, he won the prestigious Ericsson Scholarship Award Competition, receiving a $10,000 tuition grant to pursue further studies. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (with Distinction) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2003.
Exhibitions & Commissions
Alvin’s works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions, collected by private art collectors, and commissioned by established corporations and banks. His artistic journey continues to evolve as he leads the creative direction of Urth & Phire Ceramic Studio.
