Studio Policies & Terms

Urth & Phire Ceramic Studio

Welcome to Urth & Phire Ceramic Studio, a pottery studio in Singapore dedicated to fostering creativity through clay.
These policies and terms govern your use of our services — including pottery classes, workshops, memberships, and studio facilities.
By booking a class or using our space, you agree to the following:

✅ 1. Booking and Payment

  • All pottery classes, wheel‑throwing sessions, workshops, and memberships require advance booking via our website or designated platform.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.
    We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, PayNow, and other methods listed on our payment page.
  • Prices are inclusive of materials (clay, tools, glazing) unless otherwise stated.
    Additional costs may apply for special workshops, custom firings, or memberships.

🔄 2. Rescheduling, Cancellations & Refunds

  • Rescheduling:
    – Requests must be made at least 24 hours before your session.
    – Reschedules are subject to availability. For multi‑session courses, an administrative fee (e.g., $20 per lesson) may apply.
  • Cancellations:
    – Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the class start time are eligible for a full refund or rescheduling (subject to availability).
    – Cancellations within 48 hours or no‑shows will incur a 50% cancellation fee. No refunds or rescheduling will be provided for no‑shows.
  • Studio‑initiated cancellations:
    – If we need to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., instructor illness, equipment issues), we will offer either a full refund or an alternative date.
  • Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 7–14 business days.

🏺 3. Studio Use & Safety

  • Safety:
    – Closed‑toe shoes are required.
    – Long hair must be tied back.
    – Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
    – Follow all safety instructions provided by our staff.
  • Conduct:
    – Respect the studio environment, equipment, and fellow participants.
    – Disruptive behavior may result in removal without refund.
  • Personal Belongings:
    – Lockers are available for storage. Urth & Phire is not liable for lost or stolen items.
  • Cleanliness:
    – Participants are expected to clean their workstations, including tools and trays, after use. Staff will guide you on proper cleanup.

🎨 4. Class & Workshop Details

  • Beginner Pottery Classes: Suitable for all levels. Duration typically 2–3 hours, including hands‑on instruction and practice.
  • Intermediate & Advanced Classes: Designed for those building on their foundational skills. See course pages for details.
  • Corporate & Team‑Building Workshops: Minimum group size of 6. Custom packages available — contact us for details.
  • Materials: Clay and basic tools are provided. Personal tools may be brought with prior approval.
  • Firing Process: Finished pieces will be fired in our on‑site kiln. Pickup or shipping arrangements will be communicated post‑class (shipping fees may apply).

🔧 5. Liability and Damage

  • Participation is at your own risk. Urth & Phire is not liable for personal injury or damage to property unless caused by gross negligence on our part.
  • Any damage to studio equipment (e.g., potter’s wheels, kilns) due to misuse will be charged at replacement cost.

✍️ 6. Intellectual Property

  • Designs you create are yours to keep.
  • With your consent, Urth & Phire may use photos of your works for promotional purposes.

🔒 7. Privacy

Personal information collected during booking is used solely for administrative purposes and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.

✨ 8. Membership Policies

For Open Studio Practice Memberships:

  • Sessions or monthly passes are non‑transferable and non‑shareable.
  • All sessions must be used within the validity period (e.g., 3 months for a 10‑session package; 1 month for a monthly pass).
  • Unused sessions or months are not refundable and cannot be carried forward.

📌 9. Amendments

Urth & Phire Ceramic Studio reserves the right to update these policies. Changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
